BtoB magazine, the premier business marketing publication in the nation, named Slack Barshinger, a leading business-to-business integrated marketing communications agency, its Top Midsize Agency for 2006.
BtoB cited Slack Barshinger’s growth rate, client wins and campaign results.
In 2005, the agency’s annual gross revenue grew by 28.7% to $16.8 million. Several new clients were added to its roster, including Aon Corporation, CareerBuilder.com, Chef Solutions, FedEx, Globalcomm, W.W. Grainger, LexisNexis and Hoffman Enclosures. Slack Barshinger was also credited with creating outstanding programs for Tellabs, Underwriters Laboratories and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through its relationship with the Ad Council.
Slack Barshinger expanded its full-time staff to more than 80 in 2005, a 36% increase over 2004, while bolstering its direct marketing, public relations and media departments with new senior staff.
This is the third time since 2001 that BtoB has recognized Slack Barshinger as the top agency in its size category.
The honor comes on the heels of the firm being named 2006 Agency of the Year by the Business Marketing Association (BMA), the pre-eminent service organization for business marketing professionals.
“When we won both BMA’s Agency of the Year award and BtoB’s Top Small Agency award in 2004, that was the first time a single agency had won both awards in the same year,” said CEO Gary Slack. “Once again, we’ve won the b-to-b world’s equivalent of a grand slam. No other agency has ever received BtoB’s Top Midsize Agency title and BMA’s Agency of the Year award in the same year.”
BtoB magazine, published by Crain Communications, Inc., honors the top business-to-business marketing agencies each year in three categories: small agencies (revenue up to $10.9 million); midsize agencies (revenue of $11 million to $99 million); and large agencies (revenue of $100 million and up).
Also in the midsize category, Doremus was named runner-up while JWT Technology received an honorable mention. In other categories, Ogilvy North America received the top recognition among large agencies, while BBDO New York was runner-up and McCann Erickson got an honorable mention. PJA Advertising and Marketing took top small-agency honors; runner-up was Mobium Creative Group and honorable mention went to RiechesBaird. Agency.com won the top agency designation in the interactive field, with runner-up going to Digitas and honorable mention to ClearGauge.
