MarketWatch, a wholly owned subsidiary
of Dow Jones & Company, has been honored with a 2005 EPpy
Award for "Best Internet Business Service Over 1 Million"
unique monthly users.
MarketWatch also won in this category in 2003. This award,
presented by Editor & Publisher and Mediaweek, recognizes
the best media work by media companies.
MarketWatch is a leading provider of business and investing
news, personal finance information and analytical tools. It
operates two award-winning Web sites — MarketWatch.com
and BigCharts.com — as well as the stock market simulation
site, VirtualStockExchange.com.
"We are both excited and honored to win an EPpy in this
category," said Todd Larsen, president, Consumer Electronic
Publishing, Dow Jones & Company. "The fact that we
won in this category shows that MarketWatch continues to be
the premier site that provides leading business news, financial
information and analytical tools to financial news seekers."
The 2005 EPpy Awards competition is expressly designed to
honor Internet sites that are affiliated with the media industry,
especially newspapers, television networks and affiliates,
radio networks, syndicated shows, local radio stations, and
magazines. The nominees are judged by a prestigious panel
of media experts who dedicate many days to the evaluation
and ranking of dozens of nominated Web sites.
